Mobile app development services
Next Era Solutions builds and supports iOS and Android apps for companies in the UK, Ireland and the rest of Europe. Our engineers work remotely across Europe. Pick the situation closest to yours: you need the first release of a new app in the App Store and Google Play; your clients keep phoning your office to ask where their case stands; your staff need an app for the till or the store floor, or your app runs in a car; your product team has a roadmap but not enough senior mobile engineers.

Our services
Android app development
Native Kotlin apps, from phones to POS terminals and car dashboards. For apps that must talk to hardware, run on a fleet of store devices, or work without a connection.
Android app development →Mobile team augmentation
Senior Android engineers who join your team and your process. For product teams with a roadmap that outruns them, or one missing skill: POS hardware, Android Automotive, loyalty and ordering.
Mobile team augmentation →MVP app development
A new app from idea to the App Store and Google Play. For founders and service businesses with an idea, a budget and no mobile team. Discovery, design, build and release. After discovery, a written proposal with an estimate; development is billed hourly.
MVP app development →iOS app development
iPhone apps in Swift, through App Store review and after it. For apps that need Apple system features such as Screen Time, notifications and subscriptions, or an iPhone app that lags behind Android.
iOS app development →Android POS development
Android engineers for POS vendors and retail-tech teams. Scales, receipt printers, barcode scanners, several registers on one store network, and checkout that works offline.
Android POS development →Mobile CI/CD and test automation
Repeatable builds, tests on real devices, and release gates. For teams whose releases depend on one person, or whose automated tests nobody trusts. Built so your team can run it.
Mobile CI/CD and test automation →Free mobile app audit
A free, high-level look at the app you already have. Store reviews, store rules and crash data, then a 20-minute walkthrough and a plan you keep. Or a free consultation that ends in a requirements document.
Free mobile app audit →Legal tech app development
Client apps for law firms and legal-services companies. Case tracking, document upload, payments, lawyer comments and push updates, on iPhone and Android.
Legal tech app development →Also on request
We do more than the services above. These have no page of their own yet, so each line names the work behind it. Ask about any of them on a call.
- iOS apps in Swift. Merezha Prava's iOS app, and the Swift Screen Time part of Rethought (a Flutter app).
- Mobile CI/CD and test automation. A full CI/CD pipeline for MobileVision, a clinical Flutter app: we added the missing tests, made them run on BrowserStack for both platforms on the triggers the client needs, and the pipeline builds the apps and sends them to the stores.
- AI features: vision and OCR. Automatic background removal in Shkaf; label OCR and replacement suggestions in the In-Store Picker. Chat-based AI features are in design with clients and not yet shipped.
- Android Automotive and AOSP. AM/FM and HD Radio for an in-car system, under NDA.
- Cross-platform apps. Flutter is our default where one shared codebase suits the product. Rethought and Gamble Count are our Flutter builds. We have also built Kotlin Multiplatform projects. → Rethought, Gamble Count
- Launch and support. Testing, store release, fixes and updates after launch.
How we engage
Two ways to work with us. They differ in who runs the work day to day.
| We build it (project) | Our developer in your team | |
|---|---|---|
| Who runs the work | We do: scope, design, build, testing, release | You do. Our engineer works inside your team |
| Who sets priorities | Agreed in the scope; changes are discussed and re-estimated | You |
| How the price is set | A ±15% estimate before discovery, then a fixed price after a short discovery call, or time and material | Hourly, at the engineer's rate: about $30–$90 an hour, depending on level and experience |
| How fast it starts | Design first, so you see screens before the full build | We propose an engineer within 1–3 working days of your request |
| Best when | You need a finished app, not extra people | You have a team and need more senior hands |
| Example | Travel Security Kit (native Android in 6 months); Merezha Prava (first MVP in 3–4 months) | Dutch Bros and Red Robin (one developer in each client's team); Enterprise POS (1+ year) |
For agencies and consultants: refer a client, sell app development under your own brand, or bring us in as your delivery partner. See the partner program
Pricing
Our rates are per engineer, about $30–$90 an hour depending on level and experience. We work time and material, at a fixed price, or with our engineers in your team. The cost calculator uses one blended planning rate to give a first range: a planning figure, not a single price. There is no minimum project size. What moves the price most:
- The feature list. It is always the biggest lever.
- Platforms. Two fully native apps add about 70% compared with one shared codebase.
- Design depth, from a template to a full design system.
- Regulated sectors such as legal, finance or health, which add security and compliance work.

How a project starts
- A 30-minute call. You describe the app or the gap in your team. No preparation needed.
- A short discovery call, then a proposal: a fixed price or time and material. You get it in writing before any work starts.
- Design comes first, so you can react to real screens before you commit to the full build.
FAQ
Use the table at the top. If two rows fit, book a call. Many projects start as a new app and later need extra developers, and the setup can change as you go.

No. A small, focused first release is fine, and it is the quickest way to a smaller number.
Usually within one working week.
Yes. We have worked for insurance and finance companies, under NDA, so that work has no case page. Our legal work is public: see Merezha Prava in the table above.
Yes. Flutter is our default for one shared codebase, where that suits the product; Rethought and Gamble Count are our Flutter builds, and we have also built Kotlin Multiplatform projects. When an app depends on hardware, offline work or deep platform features, we usually recommend native.
